How the Sicilian cosmetics line Alia Skin Care was born
Alia Skin Care is a Sicilian cosmetics line founded in Trapani in 2017, with the aim of enhancing Sicily's resources and traditions through the creation of effective, natural cosmetics using quality raw materials.
Its creator, Dr. Debora Pollina, wanted to combine three elements in a single project: a passion for natural cosmetics, her academic training, and a love for her homeland, Sicily.
Meet Deborah
Debora Pollina is the creator of the Alia Skin Care natural cosmetics line. Originally from Trapani, she graduated in Science and Technology of Cosmetic and Herbal Products and subsequently in Pharmacy from the University of Ferrara in 2012.
For several years, she has been actively working in the natural cosmetics and food supplement sector, first with Italian companies in the sector and subsequently through her own natural cosmetics project, Alia Skin Care.
Since 2017, she has also been a cosmetology teacher at training institutes for wellness and health professionals.
He personally and passionately develops formulas that he considers his "creations".

In creating the products of the Sicilian cosmetics line Alia Skin Care, we aim to create effective, high-quality formulas. The high concentration of plant extracts makes Alia Skin Care a functional, eudermic, and skin-friendly natural cosmetics line. Ingredients like Sicilian citrus essential oils, for example, offer an unforgettable olfactory sensory experience. Each product is the result of study, research, and laboratory testing, and is born from a love for the scents and materials of the Sicilian region: creating a new product for Alia Skin Care means starting a journey, with a unique path and characteristics.
The scientific nature of formulas
Ali skin care natural cosmetics are the result of meticulous scientific research to ensure the highest quality for consumers. Formulas are developed with respect for the environment, free from petrolatum, parabens, GMOs, SLES/SLE, silicones, synthetic fragrances, and animal derivatives. In our research and development department, we evaluate new raw materials, verify product stability, new packaging materials, and their compatibility with the cosmetic product itself. We measure the chemical and physical parameters of each cosmetic product—density, viscosity, pH—to verify its quality and quantitative characterization. Each formula is subjected to both mechanical and thermodynamic stress to predict its chemical stability and shelf life. Finally, the formulas are subjected to specific microbiological tests (including challenge testing). We operate with respect for the environment, comply with legal requirements, and comply with the requirements specified by the UNI EN ISO 9001:2009 standard.
Only natural and genuine ingredients
The quality and naturalness of the raw materials is a common feature of the entire Alia Skin Care natural cosmetics line. For example, our own lush, sun-drenched olive grove provides the prized extra virgin olive oil we use in our formulations. Alia Skin Care also invests in promoting the Sicilian region, selecting the finest local raw materials. With this goal in mind, several collaborations have been established with young Sicilian farms specializing in the production of plant extracts, typical local plants (and their transformation and characterization), and various organic essential oils, such as citrus essential oil, sweet almond oil, pomegranate juice, and prickly pear gel.
The ceramics of Giuliana Cordio
Another collaboration, born in Trapani with ceramist Giuliana Cordio of the "Di cotte e di Crude" workshop, has allowed us to showcase the artistic form of majolica painting through our products. From this harmony, the Sicilian cosmetics line Alia Skin Care is born, combining different yet complementary elements: the purity of plant extracts is based on scientific research into specific formulas, while the tradition of Sicilian majolica is combined with modern and elegant packaging design.
